I am finished with Christmas shopping except a couple of stocking stuffers.
I have been done with the kids for some time all except ONE thing for Anna which I got today.
Now, to wrap it all. Wrapping always seems fun in theory. I always get so giddy getting all of the stuff out to start it all and then, it is not long before my back is hurting, my frustration kicks in and I am over it!
But, gift giving is my favorite thing! I absolutely love it!
Thankfully, it is something that my children has inherited from me. It doesn't matter where we go they want to buy everything for everyone. They really do have giving hearts.
One of our traditions are that I take the kids one by one to the dollar store and let them buy each other gifts. The kids really enjoy this and I really love watching them scour the isles deciding what their siblings would want most. They always want to buy more then the one thing that they are allowed.
This year, they used their own money. They are given a dollar from a lady at church every week. They have been saving their money to buy gifts for their siblings and cousin Ella.
I enjoy this tradition very much and each of them look forward to it. My favorite is usually Abigail as her little four year old mind comes up with some really cute stuff lol
So work is still going awesome. I am SO happy and thankful for this job. What is hard is finding sitters. My hours are not always the same. I work when needed. But, I am making it work and I am blessed with SO many people who have offered to help...The people I work with are fantastic and a job where I get to talk to people all day is totally the job for me. I don't know if I posted about this before but, my kids are always teasing me (in a fun way) how I am making friends everywhere we go! So,you can see why this job seems perfect for me. The work itself is hard as I stated before but , the job.. the job is awesome.
Friday I was given the chance to go out with friends for a free night out. I was offered a ticket to "Holiday nights" at Greenfield village. I had only ever been to Holiday Nights one other time.. I LOVED it. Holiday Nights combines two of my favorite things, Christmas and Greenfield Village.
I am so glad that I decided to go. I laughed till I hurt. I needed some good ole fashioned "laughter", as in the best medicine.
I have felt so much better since then!
Here are a couple of pictures!
It was so fun hanging out with people who know you and you share so many stories with. I have known my friend Jenni since starting 6th grade!!! There was an endless supply of personal jokes and laughter.
I am glad they thought to ask me. At first I had said no. I had had a sitter already a couple times last week for work. I felt guilty getting one to go out but, after months of having my kids day after day I let myself have a day out no work, no kids.
The guilt quickly went away when I heard/saw the fun they were having and, of coarse, with the fun I was having.
It was SO cold but, after while, when our toes were numb we hardly noticed anymore :)
