School!

We are finishing up (dragging it out actually) last years school. I like to school year round altho, I do not physically sit down and do school every day in the summer, we still do work.
I am also preparing for next year and I am overly excited about it.
I plan to blog about it as a motivation . I will love to look back at the things we have done through out the year.
This year, we are going with the "Unit Study" approach to homeschooling.
I am not using a curriculm for this even tho I do know there are many.. I know that My Fathers World has a great curriculum but, I am excited about building our own.
About a week ago, the kids and I sat and made out a master list of subjects we would like to learn about. It is a rough copy, subject to change if we come across something we would enjoy learning more ... however, we have one made and I have been steadily collecting different resources in those subjects.
We will not officially start next year until Augustish but, why wait till then to start getting things ready?

I will be using Rod and Staff for phonics for my first grader (wow hard to imagine that he will be a first grader) and Math u see for math for all three of them!
The rest will be done in the Unit study form. I have to say , this is the most excited I have ever been about a new school year. I can not wait to dive into some of the topics we have chosen to study.. and any new ones that may arise.

Labor day ( I believe)  will be our first subject when we return to school. Stay tuned for weekly reviews and pictures~
