Date Night

So, with 6 kids we have to be intentional in spending time alone with the kids.
We feel it's important to connect with the kids and make sure they get some 2 on 1 time.
So, the kids are assigned evenings. Those nights they get 30 minutes at LEAST of undivided attention.
We can watch a t.v. show,  play a game.. anything with in reason that they desire. We don't play on our phones or talk to each other,  we keep our conversation to that child.
Tonight was lilys night. We watched a show and honestly I haven't a clue what the show was. I just know she loves it.
We talked about school and all of the new friends she has now at her new school. We talked about her lunches and her Hatchimal. I even gave her a special snack I had bought with her in mind .
If we hadn't set that time aside...it would have been bedtime before we knew it and we may not have had that time to hear all about her day in such detail.  She wouldn't have felt so special getting all the attention.
All of them have just really taken to it. They love it and look forward to it. As do we!!!

(Mini peppers.  The little girls, especially Lil loves them... She was excited to try one of each color!)

All cuddled on the couch watching lilys pick. Please don't mind the backpacks on the
