So, while we find our dream home we are here.
It's a beautiful home and my complaints are few. I would be lying if I said there were none because well, I'm human. But, they are few.
I am blessed to be in a great place as we transition . 1600 sqft for our kids to spread out. Two bathrooms , four bedrooms. There are a few things it lacks. A basement, a garage , linen closets.
I could take the time to dwell on what I don't have . Or, I could just be thankful for what I do have . And that's a beautiful, safe , and warm place for all of us.
In the meantime, I make this place our home. It may be temporary in our minds but, something I've learned in life is, it's so unpredictable. Permanent turns temporary , temporary turns permanent. So, while I believe this to be a place we will occupy a short time (about a year and a half) , I am also not naive enough to believe that anything can happen.
Making this our home isn't hard. I have the 7 pieces of my heart here with me. We are a family. We are home where ever we are.
The fact that I'm home again, as a homemaker, I am able to work on trouble spots.
8 people and no linen closet can be problematic. The solution wasn't clear to me until we were given a dresser from a fellow church member.
When given the key to the garage to pick it up, we were told we were welcome to anything inside the garage.
Immediately , when I saw this piece, I knew it was the solution to our problem. It is the PERFECT linen "closet" .
Towels and such will go in the glass. The bottom will hold extra blankets and sheets. My plan is to fix it up, make it "mine" some way or another . That hasn't been decided yet. Nor, where it will dwell.
At the moment it is in our bathroom. But may end up in the hallway. Regardless I'm super excited about it and can't wait for warmer weather so I can personalize it !!!
EDITED to add:
After I posted this I searched Pinterest. I found this blog . Apparently my ideas weren't original but I can't convey how much I love what she did and how it inspires Me!
