I had to work but, I was able to spend quite a bit of time with him despite that.
We woke up and went out to doughnuts at a local doughnut shop. It has sort of become our tradition and, since our family dynamic has changed, I am VERY thankful for it. I think it is important for us all to be together , even if only for a bit, on the kids birthdays.
Anyway.... started off with doughnuts at the place of Kalebs choosing... we actually went to this place last year for someones birthday. They loved it.

When I saw this picture, tears came to my eyes. This picture was SO obvious at how grown up he is looking!
As I said, I had to work on his birthday so, after breakfast I had to head out. But, him and I had a mommy son date yesterday! We had a great time.
He even cried last night because it was over! I loved having my special time with him... I wish we could do it more often! And, him and I discussed it yesterday and we are going to try and make it a point to do it more!
Here he is at Red Robin (his choice for lunch) ... they gave him a sundae and sang to him and he got himself dressed and wanted to wear his TUX for our date
Kaleb has grown up SO much in this last year. But, his personality remains the same!! He is funny , goofy and giggly. He is so sweet and loves his momma! He loves baseball, his family and things that are fast.
He loves church and his best friend Michael.
He works hard at the things he loves (ex: Baseball) but not so much at the things he doesn't (ex: his bedroom)
He is all around a good kid... And, I am so blessed to have been his mom for the past 8 years! He is different than the rest of my kids but, not in a bad way... in a good way because it makes him HIM!

in the morning, he comes and curls up with me and falls back asleep sometimes. I cherish these moments...
