Between the Tigers and the boys in their league. We are watching Baseball almost daily around here.
It is awesome tho. We are enjoying it very much!
The boys games started... two weeks ago now.... well almost.
They are doing really well. Both getting hits in the last game and that ended with Gabe getting the GAME BALL!
Their coaches like them a lot. Kaleb is on a team for older boys but, I needed them to be on the same team. I am happy that they allowed that as, I can NOT be in two places at once.
Anyway.. We saw one coach at a graduation party and he told me that yes, Kaleb is younger but, that he is doing fantastic and is impressed with how well he keeps up.
Then, I emailed the head coach about a couple of games that the boys will be missing soon due to VBS.
He in his response told me that the boys are two of his favorites on the team and then, told me how they are two of the best on the team.
I don't post this to be braggy. I post this because I am proud of them. They work Really hard. They live and breathe baseball all day every day. I am happy for them that their hard work pays off.
If love for the game alone made them good, they would be pros! But, they do work hard at it. I have enjoyed watching them play... having never played before it is new to us all!
I like all three of the coaches. They are not obsessed with the boys winning. In fact, our team is quite bad. We have 13 players.. 9 of them have never played before (my two boys included)
The coaches spend the entire game focused on them learning the game instead of winning. I want them to win.. and I will be SO excited when they do... but, I am glad that the focus is on learning it instead of win , win, win..
The boys are happy with their numbers. Both got their birthdays ... Gabe said that he hopes he always gets that number every year. Kaleb likes it but, isn't happy it is Prince Fielders old number lol
Gabe usually plays 3rd base (tho last game played 1st for two innings) and Kaleb Second.... The coach does play each kid in all of the spots but, mostly that is where the boys are!
Here are some pics of my baseball stars! GO ROYALS! (the only time you will EVER hear me cheering for a team other than my Tigers :P )
My handsome Kaleb before his very first game!
These boys are besties!
Gabe making a play at 3rd base

Gabe with his GAME BALL! (not sure why he looks like he has a fake tan lol)
Speaking of Baseball. I had a date with Anna for her birthday. I had got her tickets to see the Tigers play the Rangers so she could see Prince Fielder play. He was hurt and didn't even travel with the team for the series. Anna was bummed until...
She met MAX.
If you don't know who Max Scherzer is.. you can read what Wikipedia says about him HERE.
But, the bottom line is, he is a big deal.
Interesting fact about Max is that he has one blue eye and one brown eye!!!
He came over to where we were standing, signed one kids baseball, Anna's jersey and walked away. Talk about right place right time!
The local newspaper interviewed her and tooka picture of her with Max but, we never did see it in the paper if it did make it... but Anna thought that was pretty cool to say the least!
She felt less sad about Prince not being there after that!
Well, there is more to summer than baseball.. wait, just kidding! lol
