Catching Up (Part 1)

So, when it has been awhile since you have blogged, it is REALLY hard to blog again. I feel like there is SO much to say and then the post is SO long ..
Well, here goes! :)
I haven't had a computer... Anna and I were making these YUMMY muffins. We were using my computer for the recipe. Anna was putting away my giant sized vanilla extract and it slipped from her hand and it hit my computer, destroying the hard drive.
All was well, it was covered under the manufactures warranty and there was no money to pay for the repairs but, I have lost all the pictures and things that were on this computer previously.

Here are the yummy "Inside-Out" carrot cake muffins we made! (find recipe HERE)

I had a baking bug that week. Anna and I made some granola-ish muffins in an attempt to get Gabe to eat some more food. He doesn't eat oatmeal or anything like that but, I made these in hopes he would eat them. He ate one, that is where it ended. He did however love the carrot muffins.

Abs helped with the muffin wrappers. She took her job VERY seriously!

All my helpers!

Before baked

After baked

This same week I decided to make some homemade rice pudding. We were sick this week and, stuck in the house and baking seemed fun? I am not a baker as I don't like to follow recipes but, the kids and I rather enjoyed ourselves... we may even do it more :) I CAN bake I just always chose not to... but, I actually liked it.
Anyway, I made the rice pudding and also whipped up some homemade whipped cream! The kids were all excited watching it being whipped up in the Kitchen Aid. Abigail especially. She was over the bowl and watching when Ahhh AHH ACHOOO she sneezed right inside the bowl.
Everyone was so bummed, except Abs who, was very excited to have some whipped cream to herself!

We received a table from my cousin. I had a great table but, it was small for our needs. Once we did school on it, forget it. My cousins offered their table and it is perfect.. We all have a ton of room and it is nice and sturdy.
It was a little worse for wear but as I said VERY sturdy and then , the kids did a painting project on it with some paint I thought was washable (wasn't) and, the top was looking shabby. I had the bright idea to paint it... with chalk board paint!
The kids have LOVED this and, I have to admit I do too (once we got the chalk, thanks MOM!)

Anyway... here is project!

Here you can see the paint and where it was a little worn out.

Coat ONE!

and finished!

(not sure why it says February 2011)

Here is what it looks like often!

OK, that is good for now... a bit too much lol
More catching up later!
