Our new school year!

Our school year will start on Monday. We will not be in "full swing" but we will start with a routine and back to doing school daily instead of lightly as we have been over the past month or so.
I had HUGE plans for this upcoming school year.
But , as life often does, we were thrown a couple of curve balls and my ideals have had to change.
Instead of the curriculum that I had put so many hours researching is out of reach for this school year.
But, as God always does, he provided our needs and I am going the route I need to go rather than the one that I wanted to go!
I am ok with it.. in fact.. after my initial disappointment I became really excited.... and, for the price I paid how could I NOT be excited.?
The curriculum that I had chosen was quite a bit of money... like 300-400  dollars... this may not seem like a lot to most but, it is to me. I haven't ever spent as much money as I intended to spend this year.
One morning a friend of mine sent me a text and told me of a used book sale from a Christian school in the area.
At the sale I was able to get MOST of my curriculum for $31.00. That is quite different than 300-400 dollars!

This year our school year will look a little like this:

For Math the kids will be doing Khan.
https://www.khanacademy.org/

For Bible I plan to use Glow Jr.

For spelling I will be getting Rod and Staff for Anna and  Kaleb

Gabe will be using spelling I got at the used book sale. I hadn't intended on him using it but, he LOVES spelling.. like REALLY loves it and so he asked if he could use the book that I have for 5th grade. I am going to let him try it out. Honestly I think he will do great. He is an excellent speller!

If by chance Gabe can't go this route, I will buy him spelling from R&S as well. This book was 2 dollars and I can save it for next year if he can't do it.

For Grammar Kaleb and Anna will be doing this

and I will get Easy Grammar for Gabe

For Science we will do this together.. we will be doing some notebooking with this.

We will be doing a Michigan study as well and using the Abeka "My State Notebooks"

Jason chose these for History

And we will be doing some creative writing this year with this and also letters.
We will be doing our squiggle books and our "journals" after silent reading as well

Shew, it makes me tired just looking at it all... lol
I am not sure when we will do what.. Obviously the basics will be done daily but as far as science and that it will be done every other day or so.
The kids are begging for us to still do some Unit Studies this year and, so I am going to figure out how to fit that in.
Anyway... this is my big plans for the school year now... Isn't got Great? All of the books that were personal pictures were all bought at the used book sale and all purchased for two dollars each (except for the Michigan book which was five)
First day of school pics coming soon!
