Jason is still off on a medical but, he hasn't been much "fun" at least, not how we thought.
We thought "YAY daddy's home for the summer" .. and while yes, we like him home.. We haven't done the things we had thought we might.
He is still in quite a bit of pain yet, and unable to drive. We are six weeks out and he hasn't driven. I have to drive him to therapy three times a week. He gets tired really easily (Dr. today said that he should try taking some iron, so we will take that) .. and the pain. It is there and real and some days seems no end in sight.
I feel badly that he is still in so much pain and is enjoying the summer even less than if he was working.
We have celabrated 2 birthdays this past month.
Kaleb turned 7. It is INSANE to think of him being 7. He is totally changing. He looks older and is acting older too. He is a total and complete Mommas boy. Gabe always was too but, as he is about to turn 9 he doesn't hang all over me as he once did... Kaleb makes up for that.
He still has his top two front teeth. They are wiggly but, still haven't come out. I can't believe he is about to have a toothless grin! He never had that on the bottom.. when his bottom teeth came out, the adult teeth were already halfway through!!!
Here is a pic of him on his BIRTH day and seven years later on his Birthday
Kaleb ended his birthday with a migraine.. bless his heart.. he is prone to them. Thankfully this one was caught in time and no vommiting ensued
Then we had Abigails birthday. The big four!!! I have never had a four year old (or three year old for that matter) without having a newborn around!
It has been a lot of fun watching her. We all enjoy it very much. She is sassy and very silly. She is sweet and mean and has this style all her own.. One day, I will need to do a post on the outfits she comes up with. They are a hoot.
Here is a picture of her on her BIRTH day and her Birthday
The celebrations were low-key. No big birthday parties . Their birthdays are 9 days apart and the 4th of July is smack dab in the middle.. so, we hung out with them on their birthdays and just brought cake to the 4th so they could be sung to.
The 4th was at my sister in laws this year and we all had a great time.
The kids enjoyed playing with cousins and the fireworks were great.
Abigail wanted a watermelon cake. This is the outside.. nothing fancy
Kaleb had red, white and blue cupcakes... per his request. They were red velvet and YUMMY
Singing!
This was made the day before and became dry.
It was strawberry cake with mini chocolate chips to look like seeds. It was MUCH prettier in my head lol
My brother, my sister in law and mom all took the kids to the Greenfield village.
My mom hadn't been in like 20 years and had obviously never gone with the kids.
So, we took the day and went. It was a great time
Riding in old cars :)
The Wright Brothers bike shop
The inside of the Wright brothers home.
In the hat shop.. Abs sporting an old hat!
The outside of the Wright home.My DREAM porch. Even the patriotic stuff~!
this was a little "play" this is the Wright Brothers returning from the first flight.. they told us all about it :) it was neat to watch
This is a chair that Thomas Edison sat in at the Thomas Edison labratory. Henry Ford had it nailed to the floor exactly where it was when he stood up. The floor has been redone but, not under the chair and the chair has remained since. Neat!
Tomorrow my brother and his wife will have their first baby...
I am extremly excited to have a new niece.
I have one sibling and he is having a baby. It is very exciting for me.
Here are a couple pics I took of them last week..
So, that is our summer in a nutshell so far..
I hope you are all having a great summer.
I am excited.. I went into the store and all the back to school stuff is
in the stores.. MAKES ME GIDDY :)
