10th Birthday Memories Part 2

As I said in my previous post I really thought I had to do something "out of this world" for my daughters 10th birthday. It is so silly when I think about it now and I really do not know where it came from. I am not a materialistic person.. my kids often do not have the latest crazes and fads that other kids do... so, like I said, this isn't my normal mind set and I am unsure where it came from... other then it was a BIG birthday and I just felt she deserved it.

When we first disussed her birthday my sister in law and I thought we would do a joined birthday party. Anna and her cousin Matthew are two weeks to the day apart in age.
So, we thought how neat it would be to do a BIG birthday party at a bounce house type place and the kids would just LOVE IT... right?
Well the more I tried to plan the more Anna resisted. I was convinced that she SHOULD have a bounce house birthday and she kept telling me that she wanted something more private... her words were that at a bounce house she couldn't really hang out with everyone and, they don't close it off to the public and, it is rushed... finally one day it hit me... "Hey genius, it is HER big birthday and, not having it at a bounce house saves you a lot of cash" DUH.
We decided that since the weather is to unpredictable to have anything at my house in April, we would have it in the basement of my church.
Then, there was a theme. I am big on themes... this is mainly because I really enjoy planning. And, after much debate, Anna came up with a rainbow theme.

It turned out pretty cute even tho toward the end, the money was really tight (my hubby being off for Mono)

Here are the pictures.

I made rainbows with table clothes and poster board

This was Annas special table for her and all of her friends...

The food table (notice the blue and orange table together...)

The centerpieces.. my creativity and money rant out.. these are from the
Dollar Tree... Good enough

This was what held the balloons on Annas table

For the subs.. Mayo, mustard and mild peppers

Salad (minor mishap with the subs and they got there late.. OOPS)

The pop in the order of a rainbow. This lasted 2.2 seconds once the kids got ahold of it but, at least I got a picture :D

The cake. I loved it.. I mean REALLY loved it.
I told Walmart I wanted a rainbow with clouds and this is what they came up with.
It was so pretty I was excited.

Singing happy birthday

Presents.. this is what you get when say NO presents :)
No, I am thankful, she is loved!!!!!
