I mean, I know it is not really magic but, the stuff that these things can do never ceases to AMAZE me.
I had seen somewhere online that a woman had used a magic eraser to get rid of the mildew in her shower. This had me curious. I do not have an issue with mildew but, my problem is with rust. We seem to have a rustier pipe or something in our shower and our grout turns orange.
I have used bleach, comet (with a toothbrush) , scrubbing bubbles.... I have even used The "works" which never seemed to work.
I was at a loss and I was just about to speak to my husband about re grouting because.... while I can have a messy house from time to time... I really do hate to have a yucky tub.
I am getting to a point here, really I am...
So, I seen the blog post about the Magic Eraser and so, I had to try it... I did... here are my results...
BEFORE
And AFTER
IT'S MAGIC :) told ya!!!! I am really excited about doing the entire shower... well not entire shower... The rust is only basically where the shower head is.... but, I am really really excited.
So, as I was walking past the sink, I thought "why not" and decided to try it in there. When we redid our bathroom, we got a new vanity. We bought an inexpensive 100 dollar one because we just wanted something small and with four kids and all the hoopla and abuse that my bathroom sink takes, I did not want to spend a lot . Besides, after all of our shopping, we concluded that the expensive ones weren't all that better made. And, if something was going to ruin my vanity, I would rather it be a 100 dollar vanity....
OK, again I am getting to a point here.
Anyway I thought that perhaps we were wrong. Over the past month I have not had liquid handsoap for the sink. We have been using bar soap. This is because I ran out and I have literally forgotten every single time I have gone to the store to buy new....
Over the past month this nasty film had developed in the bottom of the sink. I have tried everything (as I had with the shower) to get it off but, to no avail!
Just two nights ago my husband and I were discussing how "I guess at tax time we will have to get a new vanity" BIG SIGH.
However, he will be SO pleased this evening when he comes home from work and sees that our pocket book is safe....
BEFORE (The lighting with my camera makes everything yellow in there *that and the green walls* but you get the point)
awful right? I was horrified when people said they needed to use the bathroom!!!!!!
Here it is almost and completely finished..... YAY
Here I got wise and turned off the light.. it is a lot less yellow!
I am going to try them (Magic Eraser) on more things I mean... WHY NOT? Could safe me some more money .... who doesn't love that?
I just wanted to share as, someone took the time to share and I was blessed I wanted to help out someone else who may be having issues in one of these areas!
I get them at the Dollar Tree 2 for a buck!
Happy erasing! :)
