An Aldi shopper!

I am now what you would call an Aldi shopper!
For YEARS I was anti Aldi.. for no other reason
then ,I had two bad experiences in a row
at Aldi and so, I had boycotted it.

I gave it two tries before I deemed it a waste
of time and decided I would never go back!
That is until we were driving by one day on our
way to Walmart (Aldi is across the street)
and I seen milk for 1.69.. CRAZY~
I mean we are a milk family. We can easily
go through a gallon or more a day .
So, I said to my husband "Maybe we should
go there and get some milk"
and so, he turned the car around!
While walking around I did some comparing.
I seen that some things were the same price as others
and I seen others were amazingly priced.
I went back two times that week... ( I know, I know
CRAZY)
BUT, Aldi carries a brand of Salsa and Hummus that
is Famous around here and, they carry it for MUCH cheaper
I was still not convinced I was an Aldi shopper altho I was
not "anti Aldi" anymore.
Today we were heading to walmart and I said "we should
go to Aldi to get some milk while we are over there"
And so , on the way I made up my menu for the week and
my list.
I bought everything for my week for lunches, breakfast , dinner
and snacks for 60 DOLLARS~
I was impressed. AND all in ONE store
Part of the distaste I had for Aldi (aside from my two
bad experiences) is that I didn't consider it
One stop shopping... or even a place I would/could
get enough to make it worth my trip.
I am not a multi store kinda gal. I know those who are
and that is GREAT for them but, it is not for me.
So, when I got everything I needed for the week
actually under 60 dollars *but close enough*  I was impressed!
I will still do my monthly Sams shopping as, well,
there are some things I can not beat the price of there!
And I am not yet convinced that I will do ALL my shopping
at Aldi but, it is defiantly enough that I can
throw it into my routine when we are heading to walmart
for anything in particular!
As I said, 1.69 for milk is pretty hard to beat since
at Meijer last night I spent over 3 dollars~! OUCH.
I am usually able to keep my grocery budget under 70-75
a week going exclusively to Meijer however,
going to Aldi I am able to buy the kids
snacks that they are not normally
able to get because of budget.
Today I got them some pretzels and some veggie chips
those are things that almost never make it
into our shopping cart!
They are not things that they *need* but,
who doesn't want or deserve
a special snack every now and again?

I am recently re-sold on ALDI myself!! The price for produce is great! Absolutely love it. We can get Avacadoes on a regular basis thanks to ALDI!
