They are so annoying and seem to move in for the long haul once they get here.
I have over the years tried several different "solutions" and I have found this to be the fastest and most effective way... not to mention NON TOXIC.
First, you get some apple cider vinegar (sorry the picture is sideways, I do not know how to turn it)
Pour it into a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. I secured mine with a rubberband. You need to make sure that the plastic wrap is taunt.
after that, I take a toothpick (or on this day, all I had was a skewer for kabobs)and poke holes all around the top. (this is where the fruit flies enter to get to the vinegar but, can not escape)
I then place it in a location that seems to be most occupied by these unwanted house guests. In this case, it was my window sill. (Sorry for another sideways pic)
then, I pour bleach down all my drains and wait until they are all trapped inside the bowl. It doesn't take too long as long as they have no where else to go. :)
