Pizza cake (repost)

My sons Cubscout pack had a cake walk. I am NOT a baker... I don't really even (and don't tell anyone) like to bake. I love to EAT cake but, baking, decorating... cleaning up. lol NO THANKS. Anyway... We had to make a cake. I wanted Gabes cake to be special.. he deserves it.. So I googled unique cakes and found a PIZZA CAKE!!! This is a perfect cake for Gabe since.. his favorite foods are pizza and peanut butter. Anywho, I researched them finding all sorts of fun tricks and.... we made our pizza cake. The morning of the cake walk I was reminded as to WHY I hate baking. I tried to transport the cake to early and, it crumbled. I didnt have any more eggs so I had to load up the troop and head to the grocery store. I mixed another cake batter and, it was too watery. I had ONE box left and if that didn't work out, we were NOT making a cake. I was ready to give up.... but, I am so glad we didn't. Gabe was so excited about his cake. He worked hard on it . He had a lot of fun and I did as well. And... here it is...Step by step. Here is our "crust" ... a yellow cake mixed baked in a cookie sheet to be flat like a pizza. Next .. the "sauce' which we used squeezable strawberry jam Now, for the "cheese' ... for this I took Almond bark and shredded it to look like shredded cheese.. And then.. the peperoni... These I used red fruit roll ups. With a plastic cap to a pop bottle, I cut out the circles before peeling them off the plastic backing The green peppers are chopped fruit roll up sprinkled on... for the olives I used licorice that I cut and turned side ways. my favorite are the pepperoncini ... they looked the most real. I took the yellow fruit roll up (from previous pics) cut them long ways and then made them into circles.. all wrapped up in the pizza box ready to go! ( dont mind my phone under the box... ooops)

Oh wow, I love this idea. I'm gonna keep this idea for when we get home. The Croats will get a kick out of this since they eat so much pizza anyway.
