What will they say about me?

Today we attended a funeral of an old friend.
This man was the Decon at our previous church.
He was a good godly man... funny.. sweet.. give you the shirt off of his back type of man.
We were definatly lucky to have known him for as long as we did.

But, at his funeral, I was to touched at the testimony he left.
There was NO doubt that Bro.Dave loved his Lord and Saviour.
There was NO doubt that everyone in attendance, saved or not KNEW of his love for his Lord and Saviour.
There was story after story, testimony after testimony of people expressing it.
Beautiful Hymns were sung, letters were read ALL pointing to the Lord.
The Gospel was given, no doubt, a request given by Brother Dave.. It was hard to be sad when
everyone was so excited about where he was!

It got me to thinking about my own life and about my own funeral one day... what will be said? Will it be said that I was a good godly woman striving to live right for the Lord?
Or will it be said that I "Attended church every week" or that I "Sang a special every now and again"
Will it be said that I "stived to be a godly mother and wife?" or will it be said that I was a "good mom"
Sometimes , its easy to go about our days as usual... but, we really should be working hard at building our testimony constantly.
There are things that I definatly need to change outwardly but more that I need to change in my heart.
I am thankful for Bro.Daves funeral today... I am not happy that he is gone, but glad to know that I will see him again one day, glad to know that he loved the Lord with all of his heart and soul and glad to know, his Testimony...

We've had two faithful ladies in our church die within two weeks: Pastor's aunt and then Pastor's grandmother (the mother of said aunt). It's so wonderful to go to a funeral of someone you know loved the Lord. It has also had me thinking to what could be said about me at my funeral.

May the Lord bless you and your church as you go on from here.
