I love you.. week 52 (1 YEAR!)

I am a few days late on this post. I have been busy but, I wonder if subconciously I just didnt want to post it.. makes it pretty official. Now, my blog will go back to its normalness, as it was before pregnancy and before Abbys birth. There will be updates to be sure but, I will not be updating weekly as I did during my pregnancy or her first year. SAD.. sad how fast it all went by!!!

Anyways... You are a big ONE YEAR OLD now.
We went up north over the fourth of July weekend. I made you a special cake found here only I left out the pecans. For icing , I used heavy whipping cream with honey. I Have to say, it was DELISH. Since you were born to me, who had GD and your sugars were so low and took a week to regulate, your neonatalogist doesnt want you eating much in the way of sugar. He said, you and I are at HIGH risk of becoming Diabetic in the future. So, we dont give you anything, not even Juice *per his orders* and, I have cut out sugar out of my diet as well. So, a cake made with honey was a good treat. NO, you cant have it daily but, it was a speical occasion.. and yum. He did say you can have cake on your birthday and what not so, we saved the REAL cake for your ACtual birthday *more on that later*
Anyway, We sang, you sat there and then... we waited.. you didnt want touch it.. so, Papa decided to give you a little help ,and he picked it up and put it in your face.. You were SO heartbroken after that.. you cried just hurt tears for a good 20 minutes after that..so much for smashing cake .
Weds was your actual Birthday and Daddy was sent home from work because he had *gasp* Pink eye.
So, he went to the store before coming home and picked you up a strawberry cake mix, and strawberry frosting with funfetti.. and, he made it himself.
It was so sweet. I dont believe he has ever made a cake and in his excitement he frosted it too early so, it wasnt perty.. but, it was made with LOVE and so, it made it beautiful.
We gave you a piece, waited for you to smash it and, nope... You sat there with a spoon dipping it into it little by little and licking the frosting.
Grandpa and Grandpa wanted to take you out to lunch so, we went out to lunch on your birthday. It was a good time.
After that, we came home and relaxed a bit to get ready for Church.
I dressed you in your "birthday" dress that I had purchased a few months back for 7 DOLLARS. it was so sweet and had ice cream on it!
We went to church, and you played in the nursery, A perfect way to end your first birthday.
Your party isnt until August were we will celebrate for you and all y our siblings at one time. That will be FUN.
This week, you learned to "shh" us.. We were visiting a church on our vacation so, I didnt put you in the nusery.. you were babbling during annoucments and we were all shhhing you... you were shhhhing us back!!! TOO FUNNY.
You went for your 1 year check up.
You are 17lbs 5oz and are 26 and half inches long
You are Below the 5th % for your weight and 10% for your height.. your a pretty tiny little girl.. not walking but, crawling and cruising.. your just PERFECT :)

I love you because..

You are having so much fun in the pool uncle got you last year. You were too small for it then but, its perfect for you now. You had a great time while your siblings played in the slip n slide!

I love you ... Week 51

Seems weird to think that in one more week, I will be making my LAST "I love you post" Perhaps, I will do some randomly but, for now, Sadly, the weekly ones are gone. I started off when you were just 7 weeks old!

This week you really started to look "older' to me you have gained such personality.. not that you ever lacked one but, your too funny and cute *at least to me :P*

you started motioning your hands for "come here" and giving kisses more on demand..well to me anyway.
You mock any noise I make, which can make me laugh and laugh. Last night I was making a blowing noise as bugs were flying by my face outside.. you started to do it and me and your dad laughed.
You also "roll em up" for pattycake now...

I LOVE YOU because....

You are always so happy. Here you are eating some bread and VERY excited about it.


You are always content... Here you fell asleep in the high chair that I had left you in for some time because I was helping Mrs. Amy set up for a party. Thanks Madi for taking the picture :P

I love you .. week 49

so , week 49 is here.. we have 3 weeks till we reach the "dreaded" 52. Hardly seems real as you are NOT a typical 1 year old. I am ok with that really. I am quite fine with the fact that you are tiny like a 6 month old and act like a 6-9 month old! REALLY, it makes my heart smile.
I remember having my first and couldnt WAIT to see her walk, crawl.. ect ect oh, how the years have gone past so quickly.. the fact that I cam preserve you a little really makes my day :)
You are getting SO smart however in the talking department. You now raise your hand in the air and proclaim "HA" when you see someone... your version of "HI" I am sure.
so you now say hi, uh oh, mamma, a da *is daddy*, Anna and bubba for both bottle and bye bye.
You are slowly cruizing around your pack n play but you crawl and cruize so slowly, I think that I do not have to fear the walking any time soon :)

your hair is starting to grow in a bit, you are looking less like "a boy in a dress" and more like a little girl with little curls that curl up around your ears..

I gave you a bite and I wish that the camera would have captured it better but you literally did a dance. We all laughed, it just made our day. LOL

I love you .. week 47

In 5 days.. you will be in the last month of your first year.... WOA. I should smack my own hands for even typing such ugliness.
I have hated for each one of my children to turn one year old but, this time, with you, something different stirs. Perhaps its your rougher start.. I dont actually know but, its different. And, I am sad... VERY much so.
Altho I do look forward to all the fun toddlerness that you will encounter, its hard to imagine that I will no longer have a "newborn" "an infant" soon, I will have a Toddler, who will be toddling about..
Oh well enough of that right? Geesh.

Anyways... your growing in leaps and bounds. You are developing this personality that just fits your name and your look, if that makes any sense.
You started to patty cake and you also clap and exclaim "YAY" and the best part about that is, you will repeat it however I say it.. If I say it in a deep gurgly way, you will .. if I say it high pitched and fun, you will.. totally cute.
You have also taken to putting your hands under your chin when you are caught doing something cute or being talked to by a stranger. I wonder if its a "shy" thing. but, SO adorable and looks staged thats how cute it is.. but, its not, you did it all on your own..
You have been sick this week, A fever, a cough.. a yucky SUMMER cold... You are on the mend now.. now, we have to deal with two more teeth threatening to pop through on the bottom.

I love you because....

You were SO adorable in your RED WHITE AND BLUE for the Memorial Day parade we walk in... I couldnt get you to look at me, the Sun was bothering your already sore eyes but, you were a trooper despite the fact that you didnt feel well!

and lastly because, even sick, you are super sweet and beautiful.. and make the funniest faces!

I love you.. Week 46

Its been a week since your surgery and, it looks as tho it didn't take. I will know more in two more weeks but, I am not convinced. I am a little disappointed, I had hoped that you wouldn't have to go back into surgery but, you will be fine.

You are whipping all around the house now, getting into anything and everything. Yesterday, I was planting flowers and you came up, grabbed a fist full of dirt and before I could get to you , you were munching away. Your like lightning .. ha ha

We went up north this weekend. I heard several times what a happy and content baby you are. Funny because I call you "Crabby Abby" often... tho, only because it rhymes not because its true :)

oh, I don't know if I posted it or not, but in case I didn't.. you started saying "Uh Oh" last week. Your first time was when the nurse at the hospital dropped your little stuffed toy.. she exclaimed "Uh oh" and you repeated it... I thought it a fluke until.. you got home..you would say it every time we would say it .. NOW.. you now say it all the time and appropriately not just when we say it to you. Up north, you dropped a spoon "UH OH"... if you drop a toy "UH OH" ... <3

I love you.. Week 45

Yesterday you turned 45 weeks. You spent the morning in the hospital having a small procedure done to your eyes that required you getting put under anasthesia ....

Things went well, and we will know in 2 to 3 weeks if the procedure worked and if not, we will have to go further.. blech. I pray not.

You did great the whole time, I was able to go with you while you fell asleep and they sent us back to your "room" and we waited... I heard a baby screaming from a distance, I knew it was you, I jumped up and around the corner came the nurse holding you.... You were screaming like I had never heard you scream.

We got you a little sugar water (that was all you could have for the moment) and you calmed down a tad but, it wasnt until we walked OUT of the hospital that we had you calmed down fully.

We were thankful for that.

You fell asleep in the car on the way home and, were happy go lucky all day....

You were weighed at the hospital with your sleeper diaper, and socks on, oh and holding a stuffed animal that the hospital gave you and you were 17lbs!

I love you because...

You are getting such a personality now, playing peek-a-boo and patty cake.

your such a mover, all over my house like a rocket.

your such a GOOD good baby.

I love you .... Week 44

Another busy week here at our house. We have our spring revival going on and it seems the days are gone before they start.. but, God is good and the revival is just what I need. so, no complaints.

You are over 10 months old now. Just started to crawl, and have been pulling up. You have discovered your screech and use it OFTEN.. usually, in a very quiet setting to let us all know you are there!

your hair is growing and it is changing the way you look, you look more grown up, less baby faced and also your top four teeth are finally comming in... tho they all came in in different paces and you were SO snaggle toothed.

I love you because

You are so cute when you crawl... this is your second time crawling. you have much improved since this.

You can see her mean big brother taking away the "prize" at the end.. silly boy.

not much "New" to report.... you are eating more solid food and have totally given up on baby food. which is fine by me but, I wish you would eat more REAL food...eh, I guess you will in your own time.

Next week on Tuesday you go for surgery to hopefully have your tear ducts unblocked. you will be put under and if this is unsuccessful, then you will have to have tubes put into both of your eyes.

Anna had this problem, with ONE eye. She was probed twice, then had a tube placed. They will not probe you twice tho, they will go right for the tubes if this probing is unsuccessful I am thankful for that. I hate the thoughts of you having to be "put under" makes me cringe .

I love you week.... 43 ~

43 weeks! On the 7th you will officially be 10 months old!!! Two more months and we will be celebrating your One year birthday!
Its been a sort of big week milestone wise.
You are officially and consistantly sitting up from the laying position.
you also, started to crawl. Its a slooooooow crawl, but a crawl. You are still not every where and not even time do you even try so, I still have some time before I have to keep the floors CLEARED. Your milestones are definatly bittersweet and I cant help but wish that the newborn stage would last double, even triple the time that it does.

You do make us smile so much tho.
I wish that I could get a GOOD picture of you and your snaggle toothed smile. its sooo cute and when you smile, your dad and I cant help but belly laugh at it.
I tried to video tape it but, the lighting was off and your mouth was a big shadow, maybe this week before the others come in more.


I love you because...

*the way that you nuzzle into my arm and fall asleep ... makes me sigh
*the way you laugh at the anticpation of me tickling you.. all I have to do is SAY I am going to do it, and you are laughing!
* The way that your little hair is curling up.. FINALLY. A confession. While pregnant I sure did wish for a red headed, curly haired baby girl. I have one red head and I just so badly wanted another but, You do not have red hair, its more strawberry blonde and beautiful as can BE!
but, since I didnt have the hair color, I hoped to at LEAST get the curly hair. MANY in the immediate family, including myself have naturally curly hair and I wanted ONE of my children to get it.
Anna had it, while a baby and was gone after her first REAL haircut.... but, yours is starting to curl... gives me hope :) If you have straight hair, I will think it just as pretty but, I have to say I am awful excited about the little ringlets that are forming! :D here is a video to show them off <3>

I love you... Week 42

You are nearing your 10 month mark... a little over 2 months and we will be celebrating Your first birthday!!

This week you learned to sit from a laying position. it took you a LONG while to manage it, but you get it.. its slow and sweet... you were very proud of yourself.
You have been experiencing a little bit of stranger anxiety, only, it happens alot with NON strangers.
You are VERY skeptical of your Grandpa *Jasons dad* for whatever reason, you do not want to be held by him and such..
Also, when you are being held by someone else, if you see me, its over and you want me. I do know that this is a phase and with most kids a short one *at least with your siblings* so, I will just eat it up while I can.
You get into the crawling position but, just cant seem to make yourself go forward. Bless your heart, its not for lack of trying... but, you move further and further away from the object you desire.
You took your first FUN bath this week. What I mean is. Your first days home, you got a bath, you LOVED it.. and I thought "yay" but literally since your SECOND bath.. you have screamed to the TOP OF YOUR LUNGS every bath since.. We had tried every trick in the book and this past week. I placed you in the sink.. you cried, I splashed water and made tiny bubbles and slowly, You started having FUN.... oh, I sure hope you are almost out of the "I hate baths with every fiber of my being" phase... it was a long one, a doozy.

Week 41 is already here.. seems like just yesterday I posted about week 40... oh thats right, I basically did.. but, I didnt want to get behind so, here goes.

LAST week we put you in your big girl carseat! awww it was sooo cute ... you seem so teeny in it.
I took you for your 9 month check up (your Dr was out of town and you are more like 9 1/2 months) Anyways you are 16 pounds and 25 1/2 inches... still little but, I am thankful :)
