coupons!

I do not think of myself as the "crazy coupon lady" I do not tote around a "coupon binder" or refuse to buy anything unless I have a coupon (tho these people are awesome but, I am defiantly not there yet and I am not sure I ever will be)

No, I am more of a huge score kind of gal. Recently, I came across a coupon for a dollar off the Mentos gum up2u ... I could have went to any store and bought the gum and using the coupon could have got me anywhere between .29-.49 cents depending on where you bought them. Still getting me a pack of gum for 30 to 50 cents.. but I knew that sometimes this particular gum goes onsale from time to time for a dollar which would bring my total to ZERO and, what is better then free?

So, I scoped out some coupon websites and found out when they were going on sale and scored....


22 packs for FREE.. at this particular store, this gum was sold at regular price for 1.49 a pack. This makes it a savings of 32.78 pre sale... but, if I were to go with the sale price, I still saved myself 22.00 NOT TO SHABBY!

Then I found a coupon Nabisco snacks. The coupon was if you buy 3 of ANY Nabisco snacks then you get $3.00 off. So, most people were buying these, which are a buck a piece and can be found at most registers in most grocery stores.



I too went to walmart today with 10 coupons in tow to get 30 of these little snack cups (FOR FREE) but, when I got there, I couldn't find any... instead I found the little boxes of them which, were also a dollar. Instantly I thought this to be the better deal as they were full size snacks and not teeny ones that come in the cups but, I did insist on finding some cups to compare. I was right, it was a much better deal for the bigger box. You get an entire sleeve of cookies per box! So, to the register I went with my 30 boxes of snacks and my total....


that's right, ZIP , ZERO , ZILCH

I can not take the credit for most of my finds. I Have a ton of friends who are VERY into the extreme couponing scene and they have helped me out with these deals... I also have some lovely people who freely give me their coupons.. I would not pay or seek out all of these coupons but, since they are handed to me, I do put them to good use.

a week or so ago my son went from a size 8 to a 10 in a matter of days. I needed to get him pants, and FAST. I went to the thrift store and they had white tags 8 for 5 dollars. I was able to get him 2 pair of pants and 6 flannel button down type shirts (well for both boys to share) I was so excited! we are talking nice shirts they can wear on Weds to church! Can't beat that!

I am excited about these finds. I get awful excited about a good deal. I was beaming all the way home from gathering my free goodies.
