OK, so its only like the 3rd day in November yet, I am ready for the "season" I am sure that alot of it has to do with the fact that we are in a new home and I am very very excited about decorating it... but, I also just love the time. If any of you used to read my old blog last year you know that I can barely keep my trap shut about the holidays until they are well over.
Its a "magical" time tho, I dont believe in magic, I do believe that there is a certian attitude and general feeling around the Holidays.
Last year my kids and I made a huge tree on the wall , and with cut out leaves we put all the things we were thankful for... I saved the leaves, they were things like "our cat, our computer" ect ect... I cant wait to see what they come up with this year .... one whole year to mature! I saved the leaves , plan to laminate them and add them to the tree this year... I like this tradition. I am usure where I got the idea as I am sure I didnt think of it myself, I am crafty but come on, THAT CRAFTY? naw.... but, I do wish to show my kids that Thanksgiving is more then turkey and family, tho, turkey and family are definatly important parts :P , I want them to know what its really about and I would like them to reflect on the things that they are thankful for! It should be fun throughout the years to see what they come up with.
Then there is Christmas... I cant discribe Christmas season. I came from a family that didnt celebrate the Holiday the way that our family does now, but, I did so love it even then... and really not just for the presents.. but the closeness and the general feel.
We had alot of traditions growing up and how I treasure those traditions. Only one still exsists and that is breakfast on Christmas morning and only about 13 people show up ... instead of the 40 plus that used to.
My Dh and I have come up with our own traditions and I enjoy seeing them develope over the years. I am thankful to be in a good church where my kids are being taught the TRUE meaning of Christmas... that our holiday is CHRIST centered.
Ok since it Is ONLY the second of November.. I will lay off the Christmas talk for NOW... but, Oh you can bet that there will be more to come..
Dont forget to pray and vote for tomorrow~

I hear ya! And I do remember your infectious Christmas spirit last year.
I'm the same way, LOVE it. And I'm so glad it's November already. As you know, I've been done with the Christmas shopping for months, so I've just been waiting impatiently for the season to arrive.
And FINALLY it's here :)
I voted early and I will be praying and watching Fox news tomorrow while at the end of my seat.
Traditions are so important. It's good to keep traditions you grew up with, but it's also nice to make your own.
:)
Have you thought about laminating your leaves? The education places could do it for cheap and then you can put them out every year. Eventually you'll have a whole pile of 'em on the wall.
:)
