John McCain...

As I stated I went to the John McCain /Sarah Palin rally. I was disappointed it was basically the same speeches they gave at the conventions the previous days.. HOWEVER both are great speakers.
I am loving John McCain more and more as each day passes.. when I have to say before he was DEFINATLY not my first choice , not even my second choice.... BUT, he is DEFINATLY my first choice now!!!!!

Being at those sort of things are so much fun. I remember going for Huckabee... It was amazing. Funny how I always *liked* politics... now I have a sort of passion for them.. I guess its for a couple reasons... one, it makes me feel grown up.. sometimes being a stay at home mom when you get into the world with other adults that work and such... You dont have much to add if they dont have kids or whatever... its nice to have SOMETHING to add to a conversation from time to time besides how many teeth your baby has, or how many poopy diapers you change in a day :P
Secondly, I really want to instill into my children the importance of it.. I want them to respect our president, and always have a vote... See I have always had a respect for our president, our military men and woman, and our FLAG... however.. this isnt the case with all that I grew up with, I was shocked as an adult at how many people didnt even care when a service man or woman walked by, didnt respect things such as police officers or firemen... or even our president.
So, I feel like its my duty and ESPECIALLY important this day and age to teach my kids from a young age the importance of all of it. who else is going to teach them and influence them? its up to J and I!
So, I take them when I can... . I will share with you some pictures from our previous Rally with Mike Huckabee and this one for McCain....

this is the sign that was above the where they spoke!

Michigan they said was a crucial state for them....

they had bleechers behind the speakers.. this was when everyone had their signs raised.. it was neat to see in person

Gabriel with his McCain sign... He had on his shirt that he takes where ever there will be military men and woman. He gets as many signantures as he can. He got one from a Vet that sat behind us.. we tried HARD to get McCains.. it didnt happen.. but we havent lost hope :P Here is Anna with her daddy all Patriotic with her flag dress on. Several photographers took her picture and name and age at the Rally... we only found her picture in ONE paper tho... but it was a pretty big one and she is pround :D
McCain and Palin... my battery was DEAD at this point.. (I kept taking it out and putting it back in to get a shot.. )and stupid me got so close with a DEAD battery... so these pics turned out blurry.. I was disappointed .... but, at least I got them!
This was over the winter when Huckabee was running for the Republican nominee ... He stopped by a voting precinct the night after his big rally (which I attended) these pictures made it on the Yahoo news!!! and my little guy was also on CNN holding a Huckabee sign :D Gabriel was cold and was NOT thrilled to be posing for pictures.. Mr. Huckabee just got the biggest kick out of it... as you can see!

It's exciting that you were able to attend these rallys and the children, I am sure, will never forget it.

That is way too cool. I would love to have been at one of the rallys. I heard the same thing though, that most of the speeches are just reruns.

I was totally for Huckabee and since he didn't make it McCain was the lesser of two evils for me. Since Palin and hearing more from McCain, I'm actually for him now. Palin has caused me to care and I'm sure many others like me.

Can't wait for the debates!
